This year, 1dea Design + Media has been nominated for a prestigious award in our home town of Kingston. We are truly grateful to be a finalist for a Business Achievement Award from The Greater Kingston Chamber of Commerce with 1dea being nominated for the Small Business of the Year Award, which companies with 1 to 10 employees are eligible to win.
What is a Business Achievement Award?
Each year the Chamber recognizes outstanding achievement in our local business community. Nominations are solicited from members and the community. Then a judging panel comprised of community partners and Chamber volunteers determines the winner.
We were nominated by our amazing industry contact, Jennifer Baker Consulting: Simplifying Social Media. Thank you Jennifer for being such a positive partner to 1dea and throwing our name in the hat. It means a great deal to all of us here at 1dea.
The 1dea team is an eclectic mix of creatives and strategists who pride themselves in being specialists in branding, website development, and graphic design. This nomination celebrates the entire team’s commitment to deliver the best possible solutions for our clients. It’s wonderful to be recognized for doing a great job at what we love doing.
Karen Bonhomme, 1dea’s Creative Director said, “Kingston is our home base, we love living and working in such a vibrant city. We are very lucky that many of our contracts and long-term client relationship have been fostered right here in Kingston. And regardless of the out-of-region projects we take on we will always strive to keep a firm footing in this community, working to create employment opportunities while building smart and creative solutions that show off what Kingston has to offer the world.”
The Small Business of the Year Award along with the other Business Achievement awards will be presented on November 8th at the Chamber’s Chair’s Gala. As well as 1dea, there are three other local businesses in the running and we are proud to be listed alongside them:

Congratulations to you all! You’ve done your part to make Kingston the vibrant community it is.
On November 8th, we’ll turn off our Macs, put on our ‘fancy’ clothes and celebrate just being invited to this wonderful event. Because in the end, win or lose it’s more about the journey and a little bit about this incredible Instagram opportunity! See you at the awards.
