7 Easy Steps to Add an Elementor Slider to Your Website

Step 1: Open the Elementor editor

Open the editor, then start with a blank page or import a template from the Elementor library.

Adding slides with Elementor is straightforward. Begin by opening the Elementor editor. From there, you can either start with a blank page or import a pre-designed template from the Elementor library to get started.

Step 2. Insert the slides widget

Drag and drop the Slides widget to the desired location to place the slider

Step 3. Manage the slides in the content tab

Go to the Content tab, find the Slides section to rearrange, duplicate, remove, or add slides.

Navigate to the Content tab and find the Slides section. Here, you can rearrange slides using drag-and-drop, as well as duplicate, remove, or add new slides. Click on an individual slide to access its specific settings for further customization.

Step 4. Customize each slide's background

Click on the slide to open the Background sub-tab to choose a background type: colour for solid or an image

• colour: Select a solid colour.
• Image: Click the “+” icon to choose a picture from the media library.

2. If using an image as the background:

• Set the Size to Auto, Cover, or Contain:
  • Cover: Scales the image to fill the slide area, potentially cropping parts of the image.
  • Contain: Fits the entire image within the slide while maintaining its aspect ratio.
  • Auto: Automatically scales the image based on the slide’s size.
• Toggle Ken Burns Effect to “Yes” for a dynamic zoom effect, then select the Zoom Direction (In or Out).
• Toggle Overlay to “Yes” to add a coloured layer over the image. Adjust the colour and Blend Mode to suit your design.

Step 5. Add and edit content for each slide

In the Content sub-tab, customize the Title, Description, Button Text, and Link for the slide.

1. In the Content sub-tab, customize the following:

• Title: Enter the slide’s title.
• Description: Add a brief description for the slide.
• Button Text: Set the text that will appear on the button.
• Link: Specify the URL to redirect when the button or slide is clicked.

2. Apply Link On: Choose whether the link applies to the button only or the entire slide.

• Click the ⚙️ icon to set the link to open in a new window or add rel=nofollow.

3. Custom Attributes: Use this option to add custom attributes. Use | (pipe) for key-value separation and commas to separate pairs.

Step 6. Style each slide individually

In the Style field, toggle the Custom switch to adjust each slide.

1. In the Style field of each slide:

• Toggle the Custom switch to personalize specific slide attributes.
• Adjust the Horizontal Position to align content to the left, center, or right.
• Adjust the Vertical Position to place content at the top, middle, or bottom of the slide.2

2. Text Align: Set the text alignment to left, center, or right.
3. 3. Content colour: Choose a colour for the slide’s content.
4. Click the 🖋️ icon to add a Text Shadow to the title.

Step 7. Explore and customize widget settings
